Hello to all. Very briefly I had a nasty fall (tripped over my own feet) early Fri morning off to local Hospital by Ambulance, they gave me a check over (No X Ray) done given strong pain killers and sent home with a script to get more. Late Sat night massive pains again all in upper body, off to hospital again, still nothing done other than more pain killers, by this time I am getting very worried as I knew I had problems other than my back. I told them to contact a local Private Hospital and get them to contact a certain specialist. I stayed in Hospital over night more pain killers next day I was told I would be transported to a Private Hospital. After been seen by four Specialist, two visits to the Operation Theatre, three visits for XRays, one night in a special ward, and ten days in Hospital, before I was allowed out I was completely check over by another specialist and strongly advised to hire a Walker so I could move around. Finally the top Specialist had to check all reports before I was given the all clear to go home. Why was I there for so long the strong pain killers completely blocked me up and every thing had to be removed and slowly get back to a good health. My local Physiotherapist has told me it was a very nasty fall damaging most if not all of my back except the spine thank goodness and will take many months to heal. That is the short version of my stay in hospital. Keith
Welcome back Keith, i bet a few of us where already wondering and a bit worried about your silence. I was... Sorry to hear about that nasty fall.. Well it always sounds shitty to say you got lucky there and fortunately no permanent damage was done. Having a nasty fall like that is far from beeing lucky. I hope you recover soon and be back on your feet again.. Tho with a bit more caution when dancing around the house.
Thank you Marcel in our paper today the pain killer I was on was listed as a killer prescription drug apparently many over dose to kill the pain and end up killing themselves. Keith
Back from my holidays in Wangerooge (it was great, what else?) Happy to hear that you are better again Keith - take it slowly again, you are not in a hurry! All the best from Ev
Thank you Evelyn its going to be a long slow road to a full recovery and that is far better that one step back every day. The cooking is taking me a bit longer but nothing will keep me out of my new kitchen. Keith
Did they subrcribe morphine to you? If it ends on contin or codon it probably is.. Like Oxycontin is known as the Hillbilly Heroine.. They subscribed it to me too once and it is nasty stuff. They told i could take 3 a day, but that made me feel like i was drunk.. 1 was more then enough.. Heavy sheiss.. But if nothing else helps, still a relief.. Over here you only get it for a few weeks if necessary then you need to stop or you get hooked and cold turkey. Well i cross my fingers for you, thet you will recover soon.. Take care..
Marcel Endone is a painkiller. It's the brand name of a medicine containing the active ingredient oxycodone hydrochloride. Some other brands of oxycodone include OxyContin (a slow release tablet) and OxyNorm (a liquid form). Endone is a narcotic, like morphine, heroin and codeine. It was not subscribed it was given to me at the Hospital with other pain killers, this is the one that caused all the problems. At the Private Hospital where I was for 10 days also gave me strong injections of pain killers/muscular relaxants, these eased all the pain and did not cause any other complications. I hope to find out a lot more when I see two specialists over the next 2-3 months for check up, I had some tests recently and every thing looked all OK just waiting for two other test results. I am up and about far better than many I saw in that hospital. Keith
Keith, yupe those where the ones i got as well as pain killer.. Darn strong stuff, but nothing else helped, they did.. The thing is you build up tolarance and need more of it if taken for longer periodes, that's the point you slowly start to get hooked and cold turkey when you stop. That's when it becomes dangerous and overdose is lurking around the corner. I also had those slow releasers the package said 3 x a day, but i did with one, 2 made me high and 3 made me stoned like hell. Which is actualy more dangerous, pain gone but also the coordination to move around properly and then fall over your own feet again because your to stoned to see where you walk. I know about the cold turkey because i had it 8 weeks after the accident, they gave me the liquid form for 8 weeks several times a day. When i went into rehab after that to get out of the wheel chair i first had to go through a kick off from the morphine. It's realy the strangest i ever experienced, emotions boild up i didn't know i possesed, laughing, crying. happy, angry, singing and cursing at the same time and not knowing why. It's like beeing possesed by the devil himself. So take care and rather not use to much of that stuff.. It can be a strange cirlce, if pain is driving you mad then to take that away with a drug driving you mad..
Marcel In hospital when I closed my eyes I felt and saw the bed floating away from the opposite wall plus another wall where a large curtain was around the door area. I will be on a walker for several more months until I get all my mobility strength back. Its a lovely sunny day with cold winds I hope the wind drops and I can go for a short walk in our court (no traffic) makes it safe. I am only taking two Panamax twice a day now, they are a very mild safe tablet. Panamax® 500mg Tablets 100's. Zoom. Panamax is used to relieve pain and fever in adults (including arthritis, headache and muscular pain) and children (including teething, earache and immunisation).Panamax works to stop the pain messages from getting through to the brain. Panamax also acts in the brain to reduce fever Keith
