Lol the cloudy water is from the manado under the ball, it's 2nd hand lol. The ball in that pic is the sphagnum one so doesn't affect water clarity at all, I have another I done at the weekend from a TGM clay ball and that gives out a bit of dust into the water, thanks for the kind comment, :)

How it sits today, you can see the sphagnum mix. Also a pic of it in the bag acclimatising, hence shoddy pics.

Does anyone ever experience a bit of dying back when they start a wabi? Mines inside a plastic bag to acclimatise but still getting some dying back?

Hi My Wabi's suffer die back too:( Its normal as the plants adjust to the new conditions. They soon bounce back after a few weeks :) I find the hardest bit is getting them to adjust to room temp? Well one day its warm another cold the plants don't like it so frustrating English weather. Come on summer where are you :)

Hi,It could be down to lack of air flow around the W-K ball ? Do you open the bag each day ? Or reduce the amount of water its sitting in and just mist spray once or twice a day :)

I don't open the bag at all I just leave in 100% humidity, guessing I should be opening it and spraying then? Oops

Hi Sorry to here that :( Take the plants out and give them a wash then place them in a bowl with a lid on leaving a little gap they may bounce back.
Strange that you got mould Sphagnum moss is naturally Antiseptic ???It used to be used on wounds after the battle in the old days .
