Great photos and here is a trick to school all those Tetras.

I would suggest you take the photo from the first photo location.

You will require the help of two extra people who must be able to move very fast (get out of photo shot) .

Set your self up and ready, position each person at opposite ends of the tank.

When ready one person is to lightly tap on the end of the tank, as soon as the Tetras get to the other end that person lightly taps that end this should send school back to the opposite end but before they get end and just before the middle of the tank start taking photos. You might have to repeat this a few times to get the perfect photo with your helpers out of the way.

To get that very professional photo make sure the glass is perfectly clean inside and outside the tank, don't feed the fish that day (it helps to keep the water perfectly clear). Remove all hardware you do not want any distractions. One of the helpers must flick the water at the top and centre to get that special water movement.

Funny. I never thought about what goes around during the photo shoots for aquariums. Some 10 years ago I worked for an advertising agency and coordinated some photo/video shootings, and we did lots of funny things to make things work, I guess i never applied it to aquariums :)

Tank is looking good Gio. Do not worry about the algae, keep growing healthy plants and they will go away. And watch those ferts! :)

When Judging Aquascaping Presentation is usually a higher mark. In a darkened room with tank lights only is one of the better ways of eliminating many reflections.

Tips to Photographing a Aquascape could be a great article Keith (y) ;)

The same method, most tips are also valid for all Vivarium types, Aquariums, Terrariums etc.

Me? I am not taking any photos, yet...
    Trotzdem danke ich dir :)

I was just curious how people do all sorts of things "behind the scenes" to get those good looking photos. It is funny to think about it, Photoshop is quite obvious, but people pushing fishes from side to side is quite unusual.

One of the obvious ones to get the fish close to the front of the tank is to place a food tab right where you want to take the photo.

Some of the modern cameras today are just fantastic at taking great photos. One of the introduction to digital photography I did many years ago said many times ( The Camera companies spend millions of $$$$ in perfecting the Automatic system so use it and, if necessary Photoshop can do any minor changes)

They are both very good but very technical as many photos posted are taken with the phone camera.

Somewhere J Art (a professional photographer) took a photo of how to set lights etc up to take a professional photo.

I will see what I can do as soon as I can.

    Sounds great Keith :)

Maybe we should collect all this information in a separate thread dedicated to the photography?
