I now recommend version 2, this can be found here This is my version of a wabi kusa substrate ball. Shopping list: Wifes stockings Cable ties Old eco complete substrate from my old tank Root tab fertiliser Pebbles Spag moss Aquatic moss fishing line or thread Im now off to make some and will take some pictures of the process.
I started with the stocking and added a cable tie to one end then i used a pint glass and placed the stocking into the glass, im going to call this size the one pint and then i did the same with a half pint glass. using some old eco complete ( you could use whatever you have this was what i had from a old tank. I added some to the stocking along with some pebbles for the weight and some root tabs for fertilising. Then i added some more eco complete on top of the pebbles and root tab to finish it off I then added another cable tie making sure the contents was nice and tight. once this was done i ended up with this One pint and half pint. using smaller glasses you could make whatever size you require I will be back later with more photos and how to cover the ball with moss..

Jason Being retired nearly 25 years now there are two swear words I never use "Work" and "Hurry" what I don't do today I will do when I am ready. I am planing my next big Aquascape reason being I will be pulling it down when the room is being re-carpeted. When that happens I will have every thing ready "What's the HURRY" Keith
