Quick phone image, the ludwigia mini red is now behind the wood but not noticeable yet.
Looking better already.
I still have that feeling that the scape is chopped in two with the MC and moss, making me think I should swap the moss with mc so that the MC is all across the wood.
This indeed looks way more pleasing.. Unbelievable what a difference such a little change can do.. Now i notice the low redish plant in front left of the wood which gives a very nice contrast now. Is that a small crypt? Before i actualy didn't even notice this plant because the ludwiga was constantly screaming in my eye corner.
Realy nice setup this..
Yes it's a Cryptocoryne Nurii Rosen Maiden that started 9 months ago as 1 leaf now it's spreading and have 5+ larger plants
And I think I have a spathe coming ?
I also decided to strip the moss and extend the MC for that continued look as I felt it looked like two half scapes joined in the middle.
I just noticed that I have two more plantlets growing about 6" away from the bunch of plants you see in the photo. So it spreads pretty far
I went with my gut feeling and removed the moss, now mc is placed, it looks messy at the moment but over a few weeks it will grow in nicely
Now it looks like one scape again.
The moss being a darker colour did not help either. If you had decided to go with the dark moss along that log it would have certainly cut the Aquascape into sections now there is a very nice eye flow.
That's one beautiful little crypt.. Have to make a note on that one on the whish list... Lovely color patern on the leaves, very exotic looking plant..
Thanks Keith I agree it flows better
Marcel remind me when I rescape to send you a plant/plantlet, why it's happy and producing like it is I don't want to touch it, not sure if it will make a difference but still
Thanks Jason by the time i surely will remind you.. I'm not in a hurry, actualy i never am.
No problem Marcel, more than welcome
Seems the site was down due to server space taken up by all my sites, I've deleted some old unused stuff but also looking into expanding the drive size.
Sorry about that.
Lately I had to login twice to open GBG not a problem today.
Must of been related Keith, I did not have the problem myself. Please let me know if it happens again
OK will do.
Hi Jason, Stunning scape Congratulations
Quick update to show how the mc had lifted away from the wood the remaining clumps will spread so I'm not to fused it just means waiting a little longer.
Also the ludwigia mini super red that was moved to the back is now taking shape.
Also done a big hair grass trim to thicken it up and help it spread more.
One small detail that I'm thinking is the a.bonsai in front of the white Anubis's pinto has no contrast, it keeps making me think but at the same time I don't want to over contrast that area?
Your opinions please
Comparing the tank to Sept 7 2016 the white Anubia is now becoming the dominant plant in your Aquascape colour and leaf shape.
What would happen if the green plant in front of the Anubia was allowed to grow to the top or just a whisker higher than the log?
Just a thought.
Keith I will give it a try but something is telling me to change the plant, not sure why but I'll wait and see.
A few images
