Comments always welcome.. My first ever setup: S. Repens: One more with Misc. plants including a short version of the mondo grass.. windelov ferns in this tub, pic taken few months later HC Cuba in a restaurant parcel box: The flowers of HC Cuba: My recent setup, houses some erios, some liver worts, crypts, hair grass etc. Some liverwort growing inside of this container: Eriocaulon Cinereum adapting to their new home: Anubias, hair grass, some ferns.. Well, that's it for now. I will try my best to keep this thread going with more of my emersed growing "adventures" Cheers! Karthik
Karthik Great photo of your lovely plant containers. My only comment would be tell us about the Substrate, Fertilisers and, lighting, type and hours on you use. After a long delay I will be starting my third Terrascape as soon as the weather warms up a bit more to work outside. Keith
Hi Keith, Sorry I didn't mention those details. Substrate: a.) For plants like hair grass, HC, S. Repens and the like, my mix is 60% Cocopeat and rest compost and garden soil. b.) For plants like anubias, crypts etc the soil mix is usually 50:50 Cocopeat and compost + garden soil. c.) For erios I prefer to use less of cocopeat and carefully balance the mositure. Too much moisture usually kills them. Lighting: well, all the containers are in my garden. So they receive the "full spectrum" light (pun intended) Here in Bangalore, the weather is not too harsh; plants can be grown anytime. Fertiliser: Sometimes superphosphate (Ca(H₂PO₄)₂) dissolved in water. Most times I spray the aged aquarium water. Water from the goldfish tank is doing a world of good to them.. I inspect them every other day and keep the moisture in check. Cheers, Karthik
New setup with tenellus and Bolbitis fern. Substrate: 30% Cocopeat and remaining coarse garden soil. Bolbitis is mounted on a coconut chip. Light: diffused sunlight, I am keeping the container covered with a transparent plastic sheet. Cheers, Karthik
Karthik You are growing those very healthy plants totally different to any Aquascaper I know and doing a great job. Keith
Karthik Evelyn would be growing similar plants totally opposite to you because of her location and cold weather. Keith
Thanks guys,,, Keith: i started emersed just because someone told me plants wouldn't grow this way.. Cheers, Karthik
Time to try the tiny little Pangolino emersed. Hope it grows well.. Wish me luck, guys.. Cheers, Karthik
Really great work Karthik and everything is looking so healthy. I envy you for your climate... for my plants for me personally it would be to hot in the long run I suppose Kind regards from Bavaria Evelyn
