As you can see we have had a change and now we look different I'm also working on a few things.. Knowledge Base, Articles & Link Directory. Feel free to add stuff to any of the new features. Next job is to get on with the plant Knowledge Bases. Feedback as always, thankyou. Thanks Jason
Realy nice look Jason.. Good job. It gives this site kinda it's own distinct identity, instead of looking like a spin off from.. You know what..
Thanks Marcel, that was my plan the thing is most sites use the default xenforo theme and as you said they all look the same I've also added / changed the email template so it's also slightly different. After Xmas I'll get on with the knowledge base.
Oh i got one little comment on a thing i actualy discovered myself lately i never knew before.. That is the general misconception of what a Vivarium is.. You added the section Terrariums & Vivariums. It's not nitpicking and i think many people will not even notice only the professionals will, chuckle a bit about it.. But still putting this under attention might help people to get a better insight of what they actualy are trying to create. And could help to scape it all into a better perspective with a more natural feel and to the benefit of the animals inside. To the point "Vivarium" is the collectivum for everything created as artificial Living space for animails or plants. "Vivus" = Living and "Ärium" = Space and so everything we build ending op Ärium is in fact a Vivarium. Different types of Vivariums are Aquarium = Aqua = water living space Paludarium = Palus = Bog, Marsh or Swamp Living space Riparium = Ripus = River, stream, lake shoreline living space Terrarium = Land living space And then there still are Insectariums divided as for example a Formicarium a living space for Ants. So in a sence dropping Vivarium somewhere in the middle next to Terrarium keeps a misconception alive. Vivarium should be at the top we all practice Vivaristic to begin with.. And i notice not many forums bring this to attention..
Well spotted it's something I did know to be honest but never even clicked. Basically the site itself covers all aspects of Vivarium/s
I've also edited the site description. Glass Box Gardeners - Vivarium Gardening including Aquascaping, Terrascaping, Terrariums, Ripariums, Paludariums and much more. I'm open to suggestions
Maybe an extra section "Other types of Vivariums' then.. That would cover it all could invite people to show their insectarium etc..
Good idea I'll sort that later, I should also combine terrascaping and Terrariums the same as Aquariums and aquascaping?
That's a tricky question.. I have no idea how to define that scapping part when it comes to Terra.. In a way if it is in a glas box it will be an Ärium and if it's in a pot standing free on the window sil it still can be a terrascape.. But if it is solely meant as the forum tittle "Glass box gardening" implements, it would be "Yes".
I would say a terrascape is something without animals, otherwise it would be a scaped terrarium. Merry Christmas and a happy New Year to all of you!
CarpCharacin At the moment many things happening in members private lives and its the old factor "Time" it will be done but when I would say as soon as it can be done. Keith
