A big couple of days. First, My wife decided that my den was not arranged right and I had accumulated too much junk. This entailed emptying the tanks as much as possible so we (she) could carry them. So.... yesterday we cleaned all kinds of old stuff out of the open closet, then moved all the furniture around and found we needed one more table to have the proper space. It's supposed to come in on Thursday. I'll have to admit the new arrangement gives me more open space, just hope my pals didn't suffer too much trauma in the move, tidal waves, earthquakes, lights off and on, etc. They must have thought armageddon was upon them. Since we were going through all of this, I decided I might as well re-scape two of the tanks, so drained them, gave one a terrific haircut and new look in hardscape arrangement, again terrifying all the fish and shrimp. Gave the other one a complete undo/do of its landscape. No critters in it yet. And now I'm exhausted. Here's the den before: And now with the tanks moved to new place and re-scaped: Will show the room after when we finish. That's all for today.
Rob Now you have plenty of room to sit back and admire your Aquascapes. I like the light on the RH tank, what type is it please. Keith
Thanks moss maniac. Have a small algae problem in the new tank so am giving it a two day blackout followed by a good dose of Excel before I do a 50% water change and begin to introduce fauna.
Just purchased four Nerite snails and two otos and released into new tank along with seven shrimp from my first generation of rillis. Almost done with two day blackout. Will see if that takes care of slight algae problem. Also adding new side table to room. Will show when room finished with rearrangement.
Rob I was given a Nerite snail (yet to be named) as it was caught in the wild far north Qld Aust I originally had four lost 3 I found one empty shell on the carpet. I just managed to save the last one as he was climbing on the air line out of the water. Keith
Hi Rodahl, Looking forward to seeing your progress on this project:eagerness: Hope you get the Algae sorted.
Spent the day rearranging and putting back and throwing out. Here's a shot of the setup. Should be easier to service.
Rob That is what I call a very relaxing office beautiful tanks and a big comfortable chair to relax in. Keith
Keith: You must have a very high fence to control those wild snails. I hear they go crazy when confined. Rob
Here are pictures of the three individual tanks: First cube (middle) new cube (right side) SpecV (left side)
Rob The first tank looks very neat, clean and, tidy. The shrimps in the last tank are a very strong red variety. My only comment at the moment is to use a black stick on book cover, I have it on the ends and back of the Mini Terrascape its cheap and easy to put on and peel off when required. Keith
