It would be great to see some terrarium pictures so i thought i would post one of mine from 2008 when i used to keep dart frogs. The tank is a juwel 180 litre vision, i still have this tank as a lowtech planted tank. These images are taken at early stages of the setup unfortunately i dont have any of them a year later when everthing filled out. If you can see the background its made using expanding foam, silicone & coco soil very simular to my emersed lost world scape. 6+ years later it's a low tech aquarium
Thanks Keith that's good to hear. I'm planning a emersed version of a aquascape at the moment, cliffside edge / beach type scape using emersed plants only. Tank size is 60wx45dx30h. I will post more info about this one at a later date once I've crossed a few projects of my list lol
Thanks ev its an old one. This tank went from dart frogs to cichlids to lowtech planted in the years. Now its in the garage im throwing my cutting in it just to see what happens.. emersed no water. Bits of moss and plants but no scape very wild lol kisanjong - Jason https://glassboxgardeners.com http://www.barrreport.com
I am doing something similar Jason. I felt bad about throwing out so many trimmings. This is the result:
Looking good Jr I agree it's a Shame to bin the plants, what hurts more is we throw plants away that cost us money when we could be doing stuff like this. I took this one step further a few years back, The plants were sold a few weeks ago and this is now closed due to the personal things in life but will be back up very soon when possible. Emersed Aquatic Plant Hydro/Aquaponics? Rack System
Thanks Jr It will be back asap but life comes first I will then continue the journal, I have a few alterations I want to do as I'll be moving the system/rearranging the garage.
GrandGoose It would be great if you can. I have photo shopped plants then put a number on each plant that way it can be see what a plant looks like and where it can be planted. Keith
I might have to take another picture, because you cannot really see all the plants from those pictures. All plants come from the 60l tank, and they are: Ammannia Craussicaulis Alternanthera Reineckii Variegated Alternanthera Reineckii Mini Hydrocotyle Tripartita Vesicularia Montagnei Hemianthus Calithricoides Cuba Anubia var Nana Eriocaulon sp. Pogostemon Helferii Downoi Ammannia Praetermissa Staurogyne Repens Ludwigia Palustris Limnophila Hippuridoides Rotala Rotundifolia Eleocharis Acicularis Pogostemon Erectus Hemianthus Glomeratus Ludwigia Repens Rubin Ammannia Bonsai
