The last few months Tommy has been looking into getting a good sized aquarium for trying out some ideas he has for new planting and carpeting techniques. We also wanted something to quarantine new plants and fish/shrimp. We have different types of shrimp in all our aquariums and a lot of plants have snail pesticides that kill shrimp or contain snails/eggs and we have an no snail policy Yes we quarantine plants if possible or give them multiple washes/dip baths. If possible we only buy in vitro plants. Tommy finally made a decision so we have ended up with a dennerle scapers complete kit. It arrived yesterday and has been set up and semi planted, against all aquascaping principles as we are testing a theory we have about transferring carpets between aquariums and experimenting with some different plant types to see how they manage in our acidic hard water. So far we are very impressed with the aquarium. It contains a lamp that can be rotated to the side for easy maintenance and what looks like a very nicely designed pump. Pictures will have to follow later as I'm posting from my mobile but if anyone is considering a 50 litre aquarium then we both think the dennerle scapers complete should be considered.
Planted the aquarium with Eleocharis acicularis 'Mini' around the edge, and Hemianthus callitrichoides cuttings from my almost finished Iwagumi aquascape in the middle. We are going to test our turbo start procedure with EasyCarbo instead of massive injection of CO2. We are also testing just how good the light is, and what we can grow in the aquarium based on the light intensity. Argh, will edit picture size tomorrow morning Edit: Can't upload due to server error
For some reason I could not upload the pictures as an edit to the post above, so here they are, just after planting. The idea is that the two plants mix together
Hi Aquahorti I will look into this, when replying did you select more options and then upload attachments.
Hi Jason, I did indeed, at first I thought it was the MacOS update that had done something to my files, but the wasn't the case (took me a while to figure it out, Sarah is the computer person in the household, not me)
Hi Tommy, I've checked my self and it's fine here, also checking your settings in backend. I'll wait for another member to confirm this for me and take it from there. Edit..below Adding a test image
Jason I hope this is what you are referring to. Keith I will post and see if I can add a photo from PhotoBucket So far so good I clicked "Edit" LH end under my name. Keith Second edit These are the SW fish on my Screen Saver
IT support aka Sarah here. I was in Norway Monday doing my work medical and we've been home with Viggo today so things have been pretty chaotic. I'll look into this on our end tomorrow and see what I can figure out. I know there are problems uploading pictures from an iPhone and iPad due to the size constraint and that taking the picture while posting usually, lets a picture be posted from a mobile device. Usually we have to post from our iMacs and copy and resize the pictures but I think Tommy has been trying to do that. As he said, I'm the computer person in our house and I haven't been able to dig into the problem properly but it's on my todo list for tomorrow...
Hmmm. Interesting... I will be spamming this thread with pictures tomorrow Well my second attempt I was able to edit and take a picture
