I came across them lately at a webshop for shrimps and supplies.. They sell small pieces of cholla for shrimp tanks. It seems to contain loads of healthy minerals and growing micro-organism for shrimps to eat, highly recomended to keep in the shrimp tank.. :)

On a very recent trip to a big garden nursery I bought these young plants for the Terrascape.
    Plants%202%204.9.15%20_edited-1.

This is the main piece of Cactus Skeleton I am hoping to make it look like a shelf with plants draping over it.
It has a natural 6cm curve and that will be the shape of the mound, it will be attached to
    Cactus%20Skelton%203.9.15%20edited-1.

    Looking at the end view.
1Plants will be growing behind the wood .
2 The wood will be wired on through the mound.
3 I will also have three supporting mounds to sit it on.
4 I have not worked out the details yet there will be drainage holes for obvious reasons.
    Cactus%20Skelton%20backing%20sketch%203.9.15%20_edited-1.

Its still to cold and wet to work outside yet.
To the best of my knowledge I have all the bits and pieces ready to go.
All I require is at least one good week and it should be ready to start planting

Its been a long while in the process once I finish the initial planting it will be at least one year before I have any idea if its actually what I want.

A terrascape is nothing like an Aquascape its not an easy thing to do major chances, replacing and relocating plants is exactly the same as gardening.

I can honestly say the 5ft was a great learning curve other than a few technical construction details most solved its going to be a breeze to make.

Still thinking of a small Japanese tank I have the space and the time actual ideas not yet.

I have one big thing in my favor Marg is a mad Gardner.

    An update 9.11.16

Its getting close to starting this Terrascape, I can say the method its going to be built will be totally different to the 5ft Terrascape.

We just noticed this today its a Spathiphyllum mini in flower (its still in a little plastic pot)

    spathiphyllum%20%20varigated%209.11.16%20edited-1.
    Variegated Spathiphyllum mini flower.

I have the same plant in the 5ft and no sign of flowering I think they prefer a wet medium.
