Hi GrandGoose, Welcome to Glass Box Gardeners. Tell us about your self. We are interested to know what type of tank/s your keep or would like to keep eg Aquariums, Terrariums etc?
Hi all, thank you very much for the warm welcome. Later I will provide a small intro for myself. Good to see you around Keith, we never exchanged any words, but I have seen that avatar of your quite constantly
Grand Goose It started off at ASW where it was done for me. I do my best to be here every day and help where I can. Keith
Freue mich! Grüße aus Hamburg. But in fact I am Brazilian. I started quite late in web forums. Basically last year, although I have been playing with aquariums, on a very very amateur level for quite some time, since '97, I think. This last year I tried to at least learn a bit more, and after a couple months, lots of reading material from Tom, Mrs Walstad and fellow forum members, I feel that I am some sort of noob 2.0, still a noob, but I lerned a thing or two, and was able to create a nicer tank than before. I get a bit frustrated by the average content of most aquatic forums, a mix of "help me" threads by people that want solutions without any effort, and all the endless discussions about topics without any actual foundation, "I think this" "I think that". Somehow I get the impression that the discussions here will be on more mature level. This is something I definitely enjoyed on BarrReport.com, but unfortunately the forum is a bit empty, at the moment. Really like the fact this forum has a more comprehensive approach to plants in general. This is refreshing and really nice See you all soon
GrandGoose The major difference here at GBG we are small in numbers but very high in various skills. If you are looking for constructive criticism this is the place to be. Am I correct in saying you do not have a tank and are a beginner with no practical experience at all? Where would you like to start? My recommendation would be 3ft tank Low Technology and start with Keep It Simple, then you will make less mistakes and enjoy learning as you go. My next suggestion would be research Aquarium tanks and give us an idea of where you would like to start. For posting photos PhotoBucket is free and very easy to use. Keith
Thanks for your reply Keith. I do have a single 60 liters tank. It is high tech but not a wonderful tank, it is more of a lab. It is a long story, I will create a journal about it I had aquariums in the past, but not anything like the one I have now. I really dont know much, but I know I learned a lot in the last 3 months. I am definitely enjoying the ride. So, definitely a beginner, but I would like to think that I have some experience
GrandGoose That would mean you are a Experienced Beginner and would like to learn about High Tech Aquascaping. Next step would be which direction you would like to go, (Start Googling" once that is established its full steam ahead and no going back. Keith
